What To Do When You're Bored On Animal Jam...

Hey jammers! Panda here...

Today I'll be sharing some simple activities to do on Animal Jam when you're bored! ^.^ I actually came up with all of these myself earlier today... while I was super bored on AJ! XD #theirony

But without any further ado, let's get on with this post!

#1: Trade

This may seem like an obvious one, but simply going to Jamaa Township, a party, a famous jammer's den, or even hosting a trading party at your own den, and looking around for some good trades can make sure that you aren't bored! Just make sure to trade fairly and keep on the lookout for scammers! ^.^

#2: Decorate Your Den

Another one of my favorite activities is den decorating! Even if you're a non-member like I am, you can surely find some neat den items lurking somewhere in your inventory!

#3: Host An Event (Party, Fashion Show, Clan etc.)

A great way to pass the time and have fun is to host an event at your den! You can host parties, fashion shows, clans, restaurants and more!

#4: Have a Photoshoot

You can do this activity solo or with a buddy! Dress up your animal and run around Jamaa snapping photos, or even redecorate your den and have a photoshoot there!

You can take pretend photos, or take actual screenshots by pressing the Print Screen button on a Windows computer or by pressing the sequence: Shift-Command-3 on a Mac.

#5: Change Your Outfit

One of my favorite ways to pass the time in AJ is to redress my animal! I find it fun to set little challenges for myself too, like "only using green items," or "only using store-bought items." If you're a member, you can also try to create purely non-member outfits!

#6: Play Games

You can browse the fun games in the Sol Arcade, or even set up a mini-arcade in your own den! I like to try to beat my high scores, or see how many gems I can earn within one AJ play session.

#7: Play An Adventure

Check out some of the exciting adventures AJ has to offer! My favorites are Return of the Phantoms Hard Mode (you can actually get some pretty sweet stuff, like fox hats and worns from the end treasure chests!) and The Forgotten Desert! Seasonal adventures are pretty fun too!

#8: Start a Blog

If you're really bored, try starting an Animal Jam blog! You can pass even more time by creating fun pages and posts for your new blog, as well as designing it to your liking! Pearl Necklace + Art Featured!!! + Tuesday Tips (kind of)!

Hi jammers! Sorry for the late post--I was out eating ice cream in town with my grandmother. :) I just had an absolutely lovely conversation about Chex Mix with my amazing buddy. :P I mean, how random can you get? But still, Chex Mix is one of the best things ever. ^.^ My favorite is the cheesy kind. On a not-so-good note, there is a really annoying buzzing fly that is zipping around my room but it's too fast for me to swat it with the flyswatter. :O I am so terrified of bugs, spiders, snakes and other insects... >.<

Oh, and let's all give Dew a hearty round of applause for her amazing post about narwhals yesterday!

The new item is the pearl necklace in Baharia Bargains!

I really like this item (I love pearls, so that's pretty obvious) but I wish it were less expensive--I mean, 700 gems for one necklace?

 I'll try to post a new episode of Fate sometime soon... but I have a lot of homework tonight, so probably not today. >.<

Oh! My artwork (a thank-you card I sent to NASA) was featured today! 

What's weird though is that my eagle's name isn't Bouncing Theeagle. In fact, I don't believe I have an animal named Bouncing Theeagle. O,o

Seeing as I have to skedaddle soon, I'll make this Tuesday Tips a very quick set of tips for getting more blog traffic:

• Use appealing, colorful, unique and professional images
• Be creative and create a new idea (don't copy anyone else or be exactly like other blogs)
• Post often (at least 2 to 3 times a week for a regular site, and try to post every day on an updates blog)
• Advertise in a non-icky way in comments on other blogs
• Wait: getting lots of viewers takes time

Four Square Court + eBook + Tuesday Tips + New Polls!

Hi jammers! Panda here! Unfortunately, I have one of those big, annoying State Tests tomorrow, and my science teacher was a complete meanie-head and gave us tons of homework today. Also, since I was sick on Friday, I missed a big Social Studies packet, and a French test. So today I have to: complete 6 pages of science homework, read 5 pages for science, take notes on the 5 pages of science work, take notes on a different 4 pages of the textbook for science, study for a science test tomorrow, complete a 7 page Social Studies packet, study for a huge French test tomorrow (72 vocab words), as well as a quiz for French. And it's all due tomorrow. >.< So this post will be moderately short, seeing as I have to get to all that. D:

The new item is the four square court in Jam Mart Furniture!

Pretty cool item. ^.^ Just my usual complaint about it not being for all jammers. >.<

Also, I am in the process of creating an eBook. That means, a book that you can read on your Kindle, Nook, iPad or other electronic device. It is an in-depth guide to creating and maintaining a successful blog. I'm so excited to release it! ^.^ I may or may not publish it to the actual iBooks store... But I'll share a download link with you guys as soon as I finish it. :)

Moving on... here is today's Tuesday Tips! I'll be sharing a guide on how to complete a glitch. :P I would post another glitch, but I don't have enough time. >.<

You've probably preformed, experienced, witnessed or heard about this glitch. It is where you slide down the slide in Mt. Shiveer, do some "magic", and voila! Your animal is facing directly at you and sitting forward! It's a pretty easy glitch, but it can be hard to do since everything has to be perfect. if you try it, don't be upset if you mess up. 

1. Go to Mt. Shiveer and go to the very top of the slide.

2. Slide down the slide but change animals as quickly as you can as soon as you are sliding.

3. Check to see if your animal is facing you! Here is what happened when I tried it out with my snow leopard:

Football Jersey + Tuesday Tips + Anonymous Commenting Address!

Hi jammers! I have an important anonymous commenting rule that I have to address, so even if you want to just skip most of this post, just please read the end of the post.

The new item is the football jersey in Jam Mart Clothing!

Pretty neat item, and perfect for the upcoming spring season--now you can wear this brightly colored jersey when you're out playing a sports game with your buds!

For today's Tuesday Tips, I'll be sharing with you how to add page tabs. It's a common question asked by Blogger beginners, so I thought I'd just answer it in this post for all future visitors. ^.^

The tutorial is currently at the bottom of the Blogging Tips & Tricks page, but here is the copied tutorial:

Many jammers have been asking how to add the list of pages below your blog's header. Here is an example:

Adding pages can be a bit tricky to figure out, but it is actually ridiculously easy! 

Go to your blog's Layout. Then, click the Add a Gadget button below your header, like so:

Just like all the other gadgets, this will bring you to a pop up menu with a list of gadgets in it. Scroll down until you see the Pages gadget:

Click on that, and then it should bring you to another pop up menu that looks something like this:

Check the boxes of the pages that you want in your top navigation. When you check them, they will appear on the right column. You can drag and drop the pages to change the order of which they will appear under your header.

After you are satisfied with your pages, click the orange Save button and view your blog to make sure it worked!

Also, I'd like to enforce a new rule in the blog commenting system. Here it is: all jammers who are commenting anonymously must sign their Animal Jam username at the end of the comment. You may not fake your username. If I find that you have signed your fake username at the end of your anonymous comments, your comments will be deleted and you will be banned from commenting. Likewise, if you do not sign your real username at the end of your anonymous comment, your comments will be deleted. 

Please respect this rule. ^.^

Happy St. Patrick's Day + Clover Carpet + Contest Winners Posted + Tuesday Tips + Graphics!

Hey jammers! ^.^ Happy St. Patricks Day! I forgot to wear green when I went to school this morning, so I just drew a four-leaved clover on my hand and wrote "Happy St. Patricks Day!" on it. :P

Yay! What a nice item! I guess this was AJHQ's Lucky Day gift to us. :P A cute, non-member rug that is actually a good size, as far as the scale of non-member items go. Take a look at this scale picture: (raccoon plushie and picket fence for scale comparison)

Underwater Clover Items + Tuesday Tips!

Hi jammers! ^.^ It is predicted that there will be a lot of snow in my area this week, so possible delay tomorrow and probably a snow day on Thursday. :P That means early posting tomorrow (if I can get out of bed XD).

The new item is the clover cape! There is also the clover necklace for sale in the same place, but I forgot to mention it when it first came out, so I am adding it to today's post. :P They are both for sale in Bahari Bargains!

I like both of these items, and the prices are pretty reasonable! The green pearls on the clover necklace are so pretty and shiny! ^.^

Oh! I nearly forgot. :P I am preparing a special surprise for all of you! :wiggles eyebrows mysteriously: I have been making it for around a week now, but I haven't had too much time to work on, with the blog, new pages, homework and studying and all. >.< But I have a goal to finish it by Monday of next week. Perhaps earlier than that. ^.^ Hint: It has to do with graphics. ;D

For today's Tuesday Tips, (since I have absolutely nothing to post about XD) I will be posting some tips on starting a clan, fashion show or party. :) I personally don't like clans very much, but lots of jammers host them, so I figured I would post a little guide on how to start one. ^.^

How to Start a Clan (in your own den)

Think of a name for your clan first. It can be an original one thought up by you, or one from the actual book (Warriors by Erin Hunter). Some clans from the book that you can use are: Shadow Clan, River Clan, Wind Clan and Thunder Clan. 

Then, go to your den and pick a den to host your clan in. I suggest the small house den, Cosmo's Den or the Sky Kingdom den for clans, just because they are a bit more nature-y. It is easier to keep track of all of your clan members in a smaller den like the small house. But in the Sky Kingdom and Cosmo's Den, there is more space for your clan to spread out and to have a more realistic feel. The den you pick also depends on the name and type of clan you are hosting.

After you have your den picked out, you can begun decorating! ^.^ There are many types of items you can place in your den, but I suggest using nature-based and wood items like plants, fences, grass and trees. Try making the decor of your clan based off of the name of your clan. If your clan's name is Fire Clan, you can use red, orange and yellow items for your clan, as well as some carnations and red flowers scattered about. 

When you are satisfied with your clan, go to a place like Jamaa Township and advertise your clan! 

You can begin your clan after you have some people there. Of course, you may make your clan realistic, but please, please refrain from having too much violence, or weirdness like some of the pictures below. :P

You get the point. :P

How to Start a Fashion Show

Create a den for your fashion show, preferably one without too much going on so that your participants can focus on the show and not the objects in your den. A den like the small house is good, so you don't have to go and track everyone down when you begin (unlike a den like the Sky Kingdom or Crystal Palace). 

Once you have your den selected and decorated, go to Jamaa Township and advertise your fashion show. You can also send your buddies Jam-a-Grams and invite them to come participate! ^.^ Note: Having a prize often gets more people to come. The prize doesn't have to be amazing, just a small rare, adventure prize or even a more expensive Epic Wonders item will do just fine. :)

When you have a good amount of people, return to your den and round everyone up. After they are all in one spot, announce the first theme. I suggest telling them something like: "Dance when done!" or, "Say DONE when you are finished!" so you know when everybody is done with their costumes.

You can have multiple ways of scoring/deciding who wins. You can eliminate people (one person per round) or give the winner of each round a certain amount of points (whoever gets the most points at the end wins).

How to Start a Party

Select and decorate a den for your party. Be creative! Add food, games, soft couches and chairs, pets, plushies, plants and more to make your party as fun and unique as possible! ^.^ 

Then, go to Jamaa Township and advertise your party. Add as much about your party as you can in your speech bubble! Say what type of party it is (dance, hanging out, trading, game etc.) and what there is at the party (claw, plushie pit, buffet, lounge etc.)! Invite your buddies and be friendly to all who come to your party. Let jammers of all types come- nonmembers and members, as well as every type of animal!

Go back to your den whenever you have the amount of people that you want, and interact with your guests! Pretend to serve them drinks if you want, chat with them, play around, trade- whatever!

Clover Fountain + Tuesday Tips!

Hi jammers! Sorry for the late post, I was staying after school to make an iMovie about the painting Freedom of Speech with my English group. >.<

This is a pretty neat item. :P Nice colors and all. :)

For today's Tuesday Tips, I will make some Happy-Go-Lucky outfits. :P Here we go! (sorry that there are only two, because I stayed after I have to get on my homework faster XP)

And if you are non-member, try making an outfit with green items! A lei, green pirate sword, green worn, green bow and arrows, clover blanket etc.

Crystals + Tuesday Tips!

The new item is the deep sea crystals in Sunken Treasures!

I love this item, and the colors it comes in are fantastic! And for once, the price isn't too horrible. XD 

Did you guys realize that the Twists and Turns music as well as the Jamaaliday Rescue music is still in the Diamond Shop? XD Oh well, I guess Thanksgiving and Christmas never leave. :P

For today's Tuesday Tips, I will share a few ways on how to save gems/diamonds. :)

• If you would like to buy something in the Diamond Shop, say, elf tail armor (costs 3 diamonds), but would also like to save diamonds for the new animal coming out soon, then make sure you have 13 diamonds before buying the elf tail armor. That way, when you buy the armor, you will have enough diamonds left over to buy the new animal!

• To earn some extra gems, play the adventure tutorial over and over again! In around 2 minutes, you could have earned a few hundred to a few thousand gems!

• A fun way to hang out with your buddies, earn a few cool items, and earn a couple hundred gems, is to play an adventure with your friends! Make sure to stop by all of the chests to earn the maximum amount of gems!

Sorry for the lame tips- you probably knew all of those already. :P I will be making a more "educational" post later, about the lands of Jamaa, and how they relate to the ones in the real world. :)

Heart Table & Dart Board + Valentine's Day/Winter Themed Outfit & Den Tips!

Hi jammers! I had a two-hour delay this morning, but I was too lazy to post. :P Apologies.

The new items are the heart table and pizza parlor dart board in Jam Mart Furniture.

The prices are reasonable for new items nowadays in Jamaa... I do like the heart table item- the fun colors it comes in and the overall style of it are cute! ^.^ If only AJHQ were nice and would make them for non-members... XD 

I had many Valentine's day den tips (and a few outfit tips) that I had been saving for today's Tuesday Tips all week, so here they are! ^.^

Cherry Blossom Sigurd Shrine

This is a shrine in honor of the wonderful (yet hardly mentioned :P) Sigurd (deer alpha). I got the idea for this amazing den idea from xxsmile's review of Pumagirlz's den! All credit goes to Pumagirlz, not me. :) Here is what you need to make this shrine (you can always add more items if you like):

What You Need:

1 Sigurd Statue (can be bought in the Chamber of Knowledge shop)

3 Cherry Blossom Trees (at least) (can be bought in Epic Wonders furniture shop)

1 Heart Flower Bed (can be obtained in the Special Delivery adventure)

Mira and Zios Shrine

Here is a little (delicious chocolate :P) shrine for the two wonderful founders of Jamaa, Mira and Zios. To make this cute shrine:

What You Need:

1 Chocolate Mira Statue (can be obtained in the Special Delivery adventure)

1 Bouquet of Chocolate Roses (can be obtained in the Special Delivery adventure)

1 Chocolate Zios Fountain (can be obtained in the Special Delivery adventure)

Non-Member Valentine Craft Table

This is a completely non-member craft table arrangement! Perhaps you can call your buddies over and you can all make Valentines together! ^.^ Here is how to make this arrangement:

What You Need:

2 Craft Tables (can be obtained in the Special Delivery adventure)

1 Heart String (can be obtained in the Special Delivery adventure)

3 Heart Window Sets (can be obtained in the Special Delivery adventure)

Cozy Pink Panda Outfit

Here is a super cozy, pink-themed outfit especially made for the panda (but other animals can wear it as well)! Of course, you can make this outfit with other colors, such as blue, purple and red.

What You Need:

1 Pink Fox Hat (can be obtained in adventure like Return of the Phantoms or through trading)

1 Pink Holiday Sweater (can be obtained through trading)

1 Pink Glove (can be obtained through trading)

Cozy Blue Arctic Wolf Outfit

Here is an ultra cozy blue-themed arctic wolf outfit, though it looks amazing in any color and on any animal! :D

What You Need:

1 Pair of White Sunglasses (can be obtained through trading)

1 Blue Jamaaliday Scarf (can be obtained through trading)

1 Rare Raccoon Tail (can be obtained through trading)

1 Rare Wooly Sweater (can be obtained through trading)
