The Dealio
Wow, it's been nearly a month since I last posted on here.
Speaking of which, I have 2 issues I'd like to address.
Also, these are kind of emotional/angry/rant topics, so prepare for some angry-Panda mode ahead...
First of all, I've been seeing even more of my credit-required graphics used in YouTube thumbnails, blogs, edits etc. without credit. I don't mean to sound obnoxious or irritating, but I spent time and effort making those graphics for you all to use for free, and I feel like I'm being cheated out of my own time, work and sanity, quite frankly. I even noticed one YouTuber use one of my graphics in her thumbnail, not give credit, and in the comments, someone asked where she had gotten the graphic from. Her answer? She apparently "made it herself." Reading that made me feel not just angry, but annoyed and taken advantage of.
So, if I notice that this continues to happen within the next couple of months, I'll add watermarks to most of my credit-required graphics. Which would make me very unhappy, because it makes the graphics less pretty and less usable. :(
Secondly, I received several emails and comments across blog posts and pages demanding me why I wasn't posting, why I wasn't creating new graphics and even one jammer who emailed me threatening to hack me if I didn't start posting credit-free graphics that very same day.
I deleted most of these comments and emails, but what I have to say is this: this blog is my own. I'm allowed to post whenever and whatever I want. The Internet is a free place where people can express their ideas freely, not where other people can control how often they post or what they post. Of course, there were some sweet emails and comments asking if I was okay, if something was wrong or if I had quit Animal Jam. And to those people, I send my greatest thanks for not getting upset over my decreased posting frequency and instead feeling concern for me--that just makes me feel so happy inside. ^.^
Again, this post was kind of a bummer, but I felt like both things had to be addressed. I don't want anybody to feel offended by this post, and if I came off as overly frustrated or bratty, then I sincerely apologize.
Also, if you think that you are guilty of participating in one of the above events, then don't think on it. I completely and utterly forgive you if you ever used one of my graphics without credit or sent me an email that I took to be slightly insulting. You're an awesome person, and I don't want to be mad at anybody, so we're friends, right?

Hi guys! I am so happy you've decided to share your opinions on AJGC! Make sure to read/follow the following bullets:
- You guys probably know- no swearing, not even ***, no mocking or making fun of others and no judging.
- Free commenting (no moderation) is a privilege, if I see 1 inappropriate comment, comment moderation is turned on for all of you, sorry, I just don't want this to be an unsafe environment.
- If you are caught being mean to another viewer, you will have all of your comments deleted. You only have 2 chances before you are banned from ever having your comment appear again on the blog.
- I have absolutely no problem with you advertising your own blog/site in the comment section, I just request that you write an actual comment about the post or page before advertising your own site. Flat out advertising comments will not be deleted, but they make the comment area more of a spammy place- get what I mean?
- Please do not request diamond or membership codes. If you are looking for gem codes, then make sure to check out our Codes page. But if I catch you threatening another jammer, demanding a membership or diamond code, I will turn on comment moderation.
- When commenting anonymously, you must sign your username.
Sorry if these rules sounded harsh, I'm sure most of you already know the commenting rules, they are virtually the same for every blog.
Happy commenting!
It is good to hear from you Panda! I have to agree with the YouTube thing. I see people using my graphics all the time but don't give any credit. :(
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's frustrating when people use your hard work without credit...
DeleteAnd it's nice to chat with you again, Naffy! :D I've been keeping up with your blog during my absence--it's one of my favorite blogs to read! ^.^
I understand people are using your graphics without credit. If I used one of your graphics in a video, I would give credit either in the video or in the description! So, I understand all of this. I hope nobody does it anymore! ~Cosmic
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled to hear that you're one of those epic, considerate people who would give credit! ^.^ And I'm sorry that I didn't respond to your comment asking to fill in on your blog--I didn't read any of the comments on the blog while I was gone so I'm afraid I missed it. :(
DeleteIt's okay c:
DeleteIts okay. We all understand now. I think I might've been the rude one. although I wasn't mean at all. I was so scared you quit. Glad your back!!!!!

I think the only mean thing I said was that you probably won't get 90,000 views if a post isn't made. I think that was the truth although I could've said it nicer I know. I just really like your blog and I didn't want to think about not coming back to check it out if you quit. I love your blog so much.

I appreciate you apologizing anyway, but your comment(s) wasn't one of the ones I was talking about. ^.^ Other jammers were actually threatening me--I think it may have really been the same jammer with multiple email/Google/Blogger accounts sending me similar threatening messages via email and page/blog post comments. >.<
DeleteAlso, I'm glad to be back as well! :)
Have a lovely day!
Yes you too! :D
