Rare Winged Shoes and Sloths

Hello! I thought that I would post today since I have some spare time in my hands. Anyways today's Rare Item Monday is the Rare Winged Shoes for sale in Jam Mart Clothing!

I think that AJHQ are becoming less and less creative with RIM's I mean really who wants a recolored version of an already/previously released item? What you do guys think? Speaking of todays RIM there is a new post on the Daily Explorer about it:  

Here is Monday's Segment! Fun Animal Facts. Today's facts are going to be about the adorable yet slightly creepy Sloths!

SO CUTE! :D

• Their habitats are Central and South America
• They mainly eat leaves
• There are two different species of sloth: the Two-toed sloth and the three-toed sloth
• They spend most of their lives in trees as they can't walk too fast

Monday Animal Facts!

Hey jammers! No one else posted the facts, so I thought I'd give it a try ^.^

Today, the focus will be... narwhals!

• The "horn" of a narwhal is actually an iron tusk that grows from its upper jaw and protrudes through the upper lip.
• The male narwhal's horn can grow up to 8.8 feet (2.7 meters) long.
• Females sometimes grow horns as well, but they aren't as long.
• Narwhals live in groups call pods, which usually range from 25 to 20. However, gatherings of hundreds, or even thousands, of narwhals have been seen.
• Narwhals communicate with squeals, trills, and clicks.
• The color of the narwhal changes as it ages. Newborns are blueish-gray, juveniles blueish-black, and adults are mottled gray. Old ones are almost completely white.

RIM + Monday Animal Facts + DE!

Hey jammers! Sorry that I didn't post earlier, I had loads of homework. >.<

The RIM today is the rare fancy shoes in Jam Mart Clothing!

Although these are recolored, there is a cool red outline on them that the regular fancy shoes don't really have. Also, they aren't too expensive... (at least for a RIM :P)

For the Monday Animal Facts, I'll be focusing on... tigers!

• There are less than 2,000 bengal tigers.
• The Javan tiger is extinct.
• Tigers are mostly nocturnal.
• A tiger litter usually consists of 3 to 4 cubs.

What cuties. ^.^

On the DE, AJHQ posted a cute picture of a horse wearing the RIM.

RIM + Graphic + Jammers Like Restricted Chat? + Monday Animal Facts!

Hi jammers! I hope you all survived through last night, what with the rumored hacking and what not.

The RIM today is the rare round glasses in Jam Mart Clothing!

I like the colors of this item, but I wish that AJHQ put some sort of pattern on the glasses instead of just recoloring the regular round glasses.

Ugh, I have to make this post short, because my science teacher assigned us this huge packet of work to do--and it's all due tomorrow! The problem is, there's this huge test tomorrow called the New York State Test. Most of the teachers took it easy on us, in terms of homework, but my science teacher sure didn't. >.< The test will go on for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. This week is English, and next week is math. DX

I was browsing an interview with Joi Podgorny, Director of Community Engangement at Animal Jam, and when the interviewer asked about chat settings, she replied with this:

Apparently 80% of jammers are happy with Restricted Chat. Where on earth did this statistic come from? Are they getting this stat from the fact that 80% of jammers use Restricted Chat? Or did they actually conduct a survey?

Anyways... the spotlight of today's Monday Animal Facts is... the heron! Since Mira (one of the most important and special figures in Jamaa) is a blue heron, I thought it would be fun to share some interesting facts about how real herons act in the wild. ^.^

• The blue heron is the largest and most common type of heron in North America.
• There are 64 species of herons that differ in size, color and type of habitat.
• Herons can be found on every continent except for Antarctica. 
• Herons prefer wetlands, swamps, coastlines and areas near rivers, ponds and lakes.
• The size of a given heron depends on the species. Herons can reach between 34 and 55 inches in length.
• Herons have a huge wingspan, usually twice their body size.

RIM + New Space Items + Random Sidetracking + Monday Animal Facts!

Hey jammers! I hope you had a great Easter yesterday (if you celebrate it)! I might post a chapter of Fate later, just 'cuz I feel like it. :P

The RIM today is the rare old scuba helmet in Bahari Bargains:

Pretty neat item, but still kinda pricy. :T

Oh, and there's these new space-themed items in Jam Mart Furniture too, but that chair came out yesterday, just forgot to post about it.

Those two items are neat, though. ^.^ I especially like the chair, just wish it were for all jammers. ^.^

Before we get to the Monday Animal Facts, I just wanted to share some information that is a TOTAL SIDETRACK from what this post is about. :P But I just felt like posting all this random junk, so here you go! XD 

I am kind of obsessed with those pretty crystals in the Enchanted Hollow den that you see when you're passing between the second underground level to the third and final underground level. SO PRETTY!! O,O

The annoying thing about that gazebo you can earn in the new Easter adventure, is that YOU CAN'T SIT IN THE DARN THING! XD But seriously: why?!?!! :(

You know those white flowers in the adventures? The ones that look like this?

We've never really been able to get something resembling these flowers closely as a den item before, but I realized that in the new petunia bed that you can earn as a member prize from the new Easter adventure, there are a bunch of flowers extremely similar to those!

Okay, enough of my random ramblings, and onto the factual part of the post. :P

For the Monday Animal Facts, I'm featuring the... fox!

• A fox’s den is normally a burrow underground, also known as an "earth".
• A fox cub's eyes and ears open after two weeks and at four weeks it will emerge from it's den.
• Foxes have whiskers on their legs as well as around their faces, which they use to help them find their way.
• The fox does not chew its food. Instead it uses its carnassial or shearing teeth to cut the meat into manageable chunks.

RIM + Leaving Soon Items + Strange Image + Monday Facts + Favorite Item Rundown!

Hey jammers! I had today and tomorrow taken away from my precious break, so that's why today's post is so late. >.<

Anyways, the RIM is the rare horn helmet in Jam Mart Clothing! I don't remember what page it was on, but it's on the same page as the high top sneakers and the fez hat.

Still a recolored item, but the colors on this RIM are a lot more "original" than the normal horn helmet. I especially like how there are those blue stripes at the top of the yellow horns, which adds more character and uniqueness to the item. ^.^

Sadly, a lot of the Lucky Day items are leaving soon! D: Make sure to snag yours before they leave the stores until next year!

I wonder why some of the items are leaving at different times than others. :T 

On the Animal Jam Spirit, Hungergamesrock19375 posted a strange picture sent in by Shinymewgal! Take a look:

Hmm... what do you think this is? That bunny on the far right looks like the strange flowered bunny from the animal-buying glitch a few days ago. Maybe this is a new spring/Easter adventure? New mobile app? New toy set? New set of animals or patterns? The Series 1 label underneath the Animal Jam logo confuses me. Will there be multiple series of these neat patterned animals for each holiday from now on?

Moving on... for today's Monday Animal Facts, here is a feature on... polar bears!

• Polar bears can be found in Canada, the United States (in Alaska), Greenland, Russia and Norway (in the Svalbard archipelago).
• One myth about polar bears is that they are all left pawed. This means that they are like "lefties". There is no evidence to support this myth, and scientists observing polars bears report that polar bears seem to use there right and left paws equally, without a preference.
• According to scientist Alison Ames, polar bears may be as smart as some apes.
• A polar bear's sense of smell is very good.

I like this item a lot, because it is so spring-like, and goes well with so many outfits!

High Top Sneakers

These sneakers also go well with many outfits, and the colors that they come in are so fun and bright!

Ladybug Hat

This item is so adorable, and the colors that it comes in are amazing!

Sparkly Head Bow

This item comes in tons of colors to match your animal's outfit, and it looks absolutely precious on bunnies and otters!

Tutu

I love the colors that this item comes in, and it also goes will with many outfits!

Deer Fur

This item looks fantastic as a scarf on practically every animal, and I love how bushy and fluffy it is, because it keeps your animal nice and cozy in the freezing winter months, or when trekking around Mt. Shiveer!

Deer Antlers

This fun-colored item is a great head piece, and I love the proportions of it and how it looks great on every animal!

I wish that AJHQ would make all of those items for non-members... D:

RIM + Play Wild Website + Monday Animal Facts!

Hi jammers! Panda here! Ugh... I hate Mondays... but that does mean that there is a RIM in stores today!!

The RIM is the rare leprechaun top hat in Jam Mart Clothing...

Wow, AJHQ. I would like to know what thoughts went behind this "creative" new item.

It is 11:58 at AJHQ on Sunday night.

AJHQ Worker: Ugh, we haven't even made the new RIM for tomorrow!

Other AJHQ Worker: How about we just slap a "Rare" sign on one of the existing Lucky Day items?

AJHQ Worker: OMG YOU ARE LIKE, TOTALLY A GENIUS!!

The two workers stick a "Rare" sign on the leprechaun hat.

Other AJHQ Worker: Wow. The jammers will be SO amazed at our fantastic work and imagination!

Yeah. That's my lame role-playing/parody for you. :P I don't want to be too hard on AJHQ though, since they spend hours working on awesome new updates for Jamaa, and maybe they were just too busy working on something else (maybe a new pet coming in this week's update?) to really pay attention to the RIM today.

For today's Monday Animal Facts, I will be focusing on one animal. I think I will do animal spotlights like this one instead of multiple animal facts, because it is way easier. :P

The spotlight is... PENGUINS!! 

• Penguins are excellent swimmers. They can swim 15-20 miles per hour. They can keep their breath for 20 minutes and can dive deeper than any other bird.
• Natural predators of penguins are orcas, seals, sharks, snakes etc.
• Emperor and king penguins don't form nests for their eggs. The female lays one egg and the father takes care of it until it hatches. Then, the father will cover the egg with a flap of skin called a brood pouch. The egg must be kept warm from 8-10 weeks. During that time, the father doesn't eat. He can lose up to half of his body mass before the chick is hatched.
• Out of 18 known penguin species, 5 species are endangered.
• Penguins live between 15 and 20 years, depending on the species.
